How long should I plan to stay at the destination before and after the birth?
As a general guideline, we recommend that international intended parents (or at least one of you) arrive latest three weeks before the baby's estimated due date and plan to stay for approximately 4 to 8 weeks after the birth, sometimes even longer. This allows enough time for important steps such as DNA testing, court processes, the issuance of birth certificates, and applying for any required visas or passports.
